Who made ManuScrape?
ManuScrape is a collaborative open-source project developed by the MOD-Lab at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Sociology and Code Collective. The tool's developed, stems from the intertwined needs of research ethics, sociology, social data science, criminology, and GDPR compliance, catering to both structured and exploratory ethnographic approaches in digital research.
Funding
Funding for the project comes from the external funded research projects in MOD-Lab. Most important is the: "Hateful online youth sociality - A digital study of how extreme textual and visual online content is used and shared ( ExOC)" and "Interventions in grey-zone online markets for Illicit Puffbars and related tobacco products ( GRIP)". These projects have their funding from respectively Independent Research Foundation Denmark and Tryg Foundation .
The ongoing development of ManuScrape relies on collaborative efforts within the Open Science community. However, additional funding will be sought by the MOD-Lab to implement new and expanded features.
Digital Ansvar has contributed to a specification of a tool for video anonymization that the MOD-Lab crew intend to require funding for.
